Hello!

I am 9 months into my spousal sponsorship application (I am the immigrant, my husband is Canadian)

We submitted our application in August 2018
-I have already received my AOR
-I have passed my medical exam
-I have received a new open work permit

But today when I went to pay my credit card bill I saw that I had received $420 from 'CITIZENSHIP & IMM ON-LINE' . This is the credit card I used to pay for the application processing fees when we submitted but the full amount then was $1125.

I did not request this money and I haven't received any email or letter about it.

What on earth does this mean? Has this ever happened to anyone else?
My application status online only says that there are approximately 12 weeks remaining in my processing time and that my eligibility and background are being reviewed.

Did you submit your application together with OWP? Coz sometimes we paid insufficient for the OWP then to complete the fee of 255 they took out from RPRF which is 490 better to check call IRCC hotline to verify that'swhat happened to me so my representative told me that they gonna refund the RPRF fees and they did.

I'm going to try calling CIC first thing in the morning and see if they can explain what this is about. Didn't know I could call them for something like this.

I did submit my OWP application with my PR app, but I'm pretty sure that I included all the money they needed for that. Plus they have't asked for more money or communicated an issue at all.
But yes. Will call tomorrow to see if someone can talk to me.

Thank you!

If you paid PR fees together with OWP fees and RPRF fees it should have been more than 1125. So perhaps you paid less and returned the remaining fee assumed to be for RPRF as @Calm2019 suggests. You will definitely be sure when you call them

No idea what you paid for to get $1125. Are you sure that is what you paid?

PR fees with OWP:

Sponsorship application $75
Principal applicant fee $475
Right of Permanent Residence Fee $490
Open work permit holder fee $100
Work permit fee $155

Total $1295

1125 only makes sense is they paid Sponsorship fee ($75), principal applicant processing fee ($475) and right of permanent residence fee ($490) and 85 for biometrics?

Got in touch with CIC this morning.

It was my mistake! I had accidentally not given them enough money to cover the RPRF so they just gave it all back instead of asking for the missing $70! The lady on the phone and I had a laugh about how silly that is. She said they will probably request the money at some point or I can pay whenever I like online. I will be sending them the full amount this week.

Also, yesterday evening my Husband came home with flowers and inside the bunch was a printed out email saying that I had been determined as eligible for PR!! yay!
One more step down, just 3 months to go!

Thanks for your help everyone! :)
