Hi All,

sent my fbi fingerprints on 01/22/10
check encashed on 03/15/10.

I called up FBI today and they don't have my details in the system yet. Any idea how long will it take to get the results.

Thanks,
Aliya
In many cases, after the fee is charged by FBI, it takes about 10 days to 2 weeks for the result to arrive.

Here's my timeline for FBI clearance:
-Sent my request (fingerprint card) by USPS: 12/2/2009
-FBI received my request (USPS tracking): 12/7/2009
-Credit Card was charged: 2/18/2010
-FBI mailed out my certificate (postmark date): 3/1/2010
-Received my FBI certificate: 3/5/2010

Ditto as Jasper....it will take close to two weeks after cash encashed. But i am sure they have your info in system by now.... do check again! Happened with me- was told my file not in system yet & then suddenly it was in final stage-completed & sent.
In case PCCs were expiring on 1st april then i would have suggested to wait ...but Nomination expiring is tricky- would not want to take a chance. Try calling FBI again and hopefully you will get someone who is able to see your details in system & tell u when they plan to send your FBI. But make sure you send your application by mid next week so that it reaches Buff. atleast a couple of days before your nomination expires.

Thanks for your replies.

I'm planning to send my application to CIC on March 25. If I don't get my FBI results by that time, how can I update them with the results later. Any idea how long it takes to get the file # once you submit the application to CIC.

Thanks!!

vsrao thanks a lot for the prompt action.

Also there is only 10 days different between yours and mine time line. So I should hear any updates right after you.

Thanks

Re: H1-Alberta PNP-nominations NOV'09 and later+PCC, FBI,CIC application discuss

My application was resent to Buffalo on January 27th. Still waiting for receipt.

Originally it was sent in December end. But within 2 weeks we received it back asking for futher documentation. Requesting the following:
Current or expired entry/exit stamps in your national passport
Current or expired status documents indicating the date you were admitted and the validity
I-94 Card
I-797 (for H1-B status)

We resent the application on January 27th.
We havent heard back anything as of yet. We are waiting for a file number so that we can send the FBI and PCC Certificates.

Guys
I sent my application to AINP buffalo by the beginning of February; check got cashed after 10 days. However, I got a call today from Quebec Immigration officer stating that I got nominated for Quebec skilled worker too.
According to CIC website, it looks like Québec is faster than Alberta (My H1B expires by October 2010). Also, I’m from a francophone country.
Seniors, is it possible to apply for CIC under Québec selection too? Do I have to enclose any letter to drop my AINP-CIC current application?
Your help will be much appreciated.
Thank you!

According to the forum members who contacted CIC, the updated information such as FBI result should not be sent to CIC until AOR is issued. Now the applicants who submitted their application to Buffalo in Nov are receiving AOR, so it seems to be about 4 months.

Hi All,

I talked to FBI and they told me that I should be getting my fingerprints results by March 26th. In that case, I can send my application by overnight delivery to CIC on 28th March. My nomination is expiring on April 1. Is that a risk?

Please advice.

Thanks!!

that is some perfect timing!! :D
Nomination expiring makes this situation risky.... i would keep my application ready to send out the same day i receive the FBI report...just keep a check on your mailbox that day. If u receive it on 26th march- then why not send it out the same day...and try for overnight even if u plan to ship on 25th/26th/28th- each day is important here. Luckily this month is also 31 days so you get a day extra.... get the doc. delivery confirmation receipt as well-that will be important especially in your case.

Thanks for your prompt response. I'll send the application to CIC the same day I get my FBI results. Are you sending original AINP nomination letter or copy of it.
