as I seend the CAP for social worker was available till feb 2012.
but incase of rejection may be dueto many people apply very quickly and not arranged all documents, may be it's not complete application. OR if the reason is CAP than I believe CIO got many applications and now CIO start accept those applications which they recieved first (this way yes, CAP will play the role but we just guess it, we cant prove it..)
officialy on CIC website either the CAP was there till feb 2012 now it's completely depend on CIO.

oh great, is it possible to open minor FCNR fixed deposit account for 3years old baby, I tried today to ask SBI NY, still do not get any reply, even I sent email to spl.NRI branch Mandavi Vadodara Gujarat 3days ago but still not get replied. Minor is USA born indian origine, now I have the application form that for all NRE NRO FCNR accounts but they do not mentioned about minor indian origin born abroad.
if you help about this please let me know.

I have a savings account in SBI Rajkot.

I have to purchase 11115 CAD because, I am the only one applicant & I am flying to Toronto on 30th April.

I have to purchase $11115, for that I went to SBI yesterday and they have given the rate 49.60 INR for one CAD.

My question is can't we open an account in SBI Toronto from here (India) before landing ???

They have suggested me to carry a Demand Draft and give it to SBI Toronto to withdraw the money when I'll reach there.


Please, give me some info seniors as I am going to buy CADs on next Monday.

Agreed with Positive power - there is communication gap in inter-branch - self experienced..... There r only 7 SBI branches in British Columbia & Toronto.....

It is better to open account in anyother bank, SBI ma padva jaevu nathi..

Confirm once with them as they have charges for DD and also for enchashment at canada as their you do not have account initially..... one of my friend has open account in NOVA scotia bank in canada from india as they have branch in Mumbai and they have taken only 1000 bugs for 17000 CAD over and above market rate. and you can access same account from canada as your account is open in CANADA.

ask your friend what is the remitance type, it's in dollar or rupees. if you want dollar in canada and remitance in dollar only than charges are there, my is simple , dollar to rupee remitance no charges on remitance even no charges once open account wiht new york brach.
