Hi There,
My partner and I are in the final stages of applying for PR and a work permit for myself.
We have been asked that a Guarantor sign the back of all our photocopied documents (identification, marriage certificate etc.) as proof of their validity and proof that we are who we say we are.
Can anyone with experience point us in the right direction as to who to ask to do this? What sort of occupation must the guarantor have or is there a special place we have to go?
Many thanks

This is the IRCC definition

Guarantor
A guarantor is a person who can confirm your identity and the information you have provided. If you do not have a guarantor who has known you for at least two (2) years, you must complete a Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor.

I have never heard of a guarantor requirement for spousal sponsorship applications but you could look at the following link for possible guidance.

Personally, I had all my document copies certified by a local solicitor but everybody said that this was over-kill. Maybe do the same?

Who has asked for that?

You do not need a Guarantor to sign the back of copy of your support documents.

You only need to include a copy of the documents in your application package.

If the document are not in either English or French......you must provide certified translations in either English or French for those documents that are not in English or French.
