GUARANTOR MADE MISTAKE

my Guarantor mistakenly told the passport agent on the phone a different address different from the address on my passport application. The address on my driver licence shows the same address in my application form.

i ask him why he will make such a mistake and he told me he did a reference for someone else too so he mixed it up.

will this affect my passport application

I guess the worst that can happen is they reject the passport application and you have to re-apply with a different guarantor. More trouble and time consuming but won't change the result - you'll get a passport.

You are basically entitled to a canadian passport as a canadian citizen, unless you fail to provide the required documentation or for legal matters (commiting an offense, using a fake passport and such, we can suppose it doesn't apply to you anyway).

As @ZingyDNA said above, the worst would be to reapply. But my sense is that countless guarantors do mistakes when called, probably not a big deal. If anything, you gave 3 contacts, they can just call the others to ensure that the 1st made a little mistake, and that could be it.

I also have this question- What are the questions the passport officials usually ask the guarantor (or references) and what are the things these people should remember "by-heart" to answer ?

For eg, do they have to remember our address, job etc?

I got my passports and no one was contacted. Its just a formality.
If u apply for urgent passport delivery then I feel 100% guarantor & references are cross checked.
You could provide details like hair color, height, address, place of birth, job details, etc to guarantor & reference to be on safe side.

Thank you very much ! For some people they contact and some others not. I don't know whether it is random or any criteria. Anyway good to hear that you got it without such things.

I came to the office to explain and suggested for the new application with other guarantor. But they refused and asked me to contact him to call the passport office.
