None of what you just said makes any sense. Your family in Canada has nothing to do with your citizenship. The only people that matter here are your parents. Did you talk to your parents and find out exactly when they applied for Canadian citizenship, and to ensure you also got citizenship at that same time?? What documents exactly do you have to show you are Canadian?

Having a SIN starting with 7 is also given to permanent residents, not just citizens.

I am Canadian. I was added as a dependent by my Canadian-born and raised family (my legal guardians for a few years when I was a minor) My parents are officially German, but that doesn't prevent me from being Canadian. I'm applying for a passport today.
Sorry I guess this forum is more for immigrants/future immigrants and I guess I dont fit it but I was initially confused. All cleared up now

Canadian Citizenship doesn't work this way.

The ONLY way you could possibly get citizenship, is through your parents. You can't get citizenship through ANY OTHER FAMILY (i.e. siblings, aunts, uncles, etc) as a "dependent" even if they were guardians for you. They would have needed to legally adopt you to have any rights to citizenship through them, which doesn't seem likely.

What exact documents do you have, that you think you're a Canadian citizen??? The only way I can possibly think of is if your parents applied for and got themselves and you PR status at some point, and then after getting PR and meeting residency requirement someone applied for Canadian citzienship for you alone and not your parents.

You seriously need to find out what the story is. I really don't understand why your parents don't seem to be able to explain this to you. It is pretty basic stuff that they should know.
