Quick question. I have a Green card and drove to Canada in May without a passport (I was told it would be ok as long as I had a valid Green card)

The Canadian border officer was pretty nice and he didn't care that I didn't have a passport, he just looked at my Green card and gave it back to me and welcomed me to Canada (didn't scan or anything)

However he didn't give me any form with an entry date stamp or some kind of entry thing, just looked at Greencard, looked at me, and let me in, it was pretty fast. I was with about 10 relatives, a mix of Canadian and U.S citizens and he was in a hurry.

So now when I go back to the U.S in July, how do I prove them them I've only been here for less than 6 months? IF they ask, can I just tell them to call and check with the Canadian people? I don't have an entry stamp and am a bit worried.

I would not recommend saying "call and check with the Canadians". I don't think US immigration generally takes kindly to those kinds of "do it yourself" answers. Ultimately the burden of proof lies on you.

Is there any proof you can show of when you left the US? Pay stubb? Letter from employer confirming vacation days? Credit card statement and use? Anything? Hopefully they won't challenge you. But it's best to be prepared.

Not really,I just went with my family and decided to stay with some cousins until July. I just finished high school last year and am not working nor have I applied for colleges yet, I'm just kind of relaxing. My parents gave me spending money and since I am with my relatives I don't really have to spend all that much.

I mean as per the CBP US immigration website it says that Greencard holders don't need a passport to return, so I dunno. I've been here since May going back in July, first time out of the US in 12 years.
