Hello!

If I was granted a new PR card, am I allowed to travel for a month and then come back to Canada (because I'm not yet finished with my undergrad here). I would just like to visit my country for a month and see my relatives there.

The only concern I have is I haven't met the 730-day obligation yet (But still a PR on H&C grounds). But by the time that I'll be traveling to my country, I would have fulfilled half of the required days. Am I still allowed to travel without applying for another PR Travel Document?

Thanks!

You used the word "if" . . . Do you currently hold a valid PR card or not? If so, when does it expire?

My card expired last June 24 and I already submitted my application for PR card renewal. They have just begun processing it last December 7.

You have the option of applying for a PR travel document, should you wish to travel before the card arrives.

Based on your information, by the time you travel you would have fulfilled half the days - ie about 335 days. If you go without your new PR card, it means you need to make a travel document from the Canadian embassy in your home country. At that time they are going to ask you for a lot of documentation to confirm your PR status. I'm not sure if having only 355 days would be enough for them to issue the travel document.

What if I already received my new PR card? Would they let me travel and then re-enter Canada? I'm too worried they might not let me in 'cause I've just fulfilled 355 days by that time...
