Hello everyone,
So, I just graduated and also have a job in hand that I will be starting in a few weeks. My field of study and work is engineering so I was wondering if any of the more experienced members could help me determine what are my options to get my PR as smoothly and early as possible.
I had always thought of going the CEC way but from what I know it takes 1 year of work experience to apply and another year to wait. A friend of mine just told me that the Alberta nominee Program takes just a year,. I'm wondering if that is correct and what the procedure is. What are the benefits and downsides of each, and could I apply for both?

You can find detailed information about both immigration programs here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply.asp

CEC does in fact require a year of full time work experience to apply.
