applied 18.7. 12 addl.doc.6.8.12 medical req.10.8.12 medicals sent on 14.8.12 reced w1 visa on 26.10.12,now planning to move on november 3 rd week aravi kumar

Guys...I got my W-1 (Work Permit) today from New York Consulate and I want to post the time line here:

Application Sent on 27 Sept 2012
Received by New York Consulate on 28 September 2012
Sent the first email inquiry to them on 28 October 2012
Heard back from Consulate asking for my Passport #, Country of Citizenship etc on 3 November 2012
Provide the information on same day...no response from them till today
Got the passports and all the required visa documents today. ( no reply on the inquiry over email)

It took total 65 days from the day the application was received by the consulate.

All the best for all those who are waiting for their WP. I wish and pray that you all get it soon.

Hi,

Congrats. May i ask where are you from? because im waiting for my wp also.
Im from philippines and here in canada now.
my application was received by new york consulate last sep.24 2012.
passport request oct. 9. passport sent oct.16 but i dont have tracking number for it.
( dont know when they received it).

did not make any email inquiry until yesterday because im so worried if they received my
passport or not.

i hope i will receive mine on monday.

Hi Augustos,

I am from India and is in US on B2 visitor visa at this time. As I said that the NY consulate is taking 60+ days and in your case I think instead of counting your days since 24 Septemebr you should count them when the consulate received your passports. This is my personal understanding that they need your passport in order to start the processing of the visa (background checks etc).
