Hello everyone. We've received the visa for permanent residence in Canada(parent & grandparent). The visa will expire in october. We're flying next week(ticket bought) and I'm just diagnosed with tuberculosis. What could I do? Please give me advices.

I'm in panic now. :'(

My advice would be to get treatment ASAP, if possible from the same DMP where you got your medicals done and obtain his professional advice on whether you are fit to travel. Only a qualified physician can say that you're not contagious to other people. I don't think this will have any effect on your visa but the responsible thing to do before you land is to get treatment and eliminate the threat to the public.

Its always better to get the treatment first and then travel. You won't have a health card in Canada for atleast 3-4 months of your arrival so you won't get any free medical coverage. You will have to pay for it and its very very expensive here to get treatment without health coverage.

As another poster suggested, go to a good doctor and get his opinion on whether its contagious to other people or not and how it would effect your health if you choose not to get treatment in your home country; what would be the implications on your long term health.
