Dear friends,

My friend got COPR last month ( He is staying in QC but in his application - He shown interest for ON )and now COPR mentions 'Prov. of dest.: ONTARIO'.

Is it mandatory for him to switch to ONATARIO before VALID TO date ( validity is expiring in Nov 2021) as soon as possible or he can wait for a year ( His health card, current VISA ,kids study permit is valid for next 2 years) .

He has already signed a lease with rental company- How can he break that ?

What could be the negative impact if he will move to ONTARIO after a year or 18 months/

Regards,
TT

COPR has an expiry date so he can't wait for his current visa to expire. If he goes to land and it's clear he has no intention to move to Ontario and he is living in Quebec he can be refused landing. Not sure why he signed a lease knowing he applied for PR outside of Quebec.
