Hey guys,
I want to share my story with some of you cause ive been seeing alot of students asking questions about work permit, part time studies.
So I came to canada in 2014 Sept, finished my second sem in April 2015, I filed my taxes in May 2015 just to show the government I wasnt doing anything illegal. Took summer break continued my studies in last semester I failed in 2 courses. Filed my taxes in 2016. Then I was supposed to study during summer but the company I was working for offered me to relocate and I did without knowing I was supposed to continue my studies but again it was summer and cic mentioned about summer break then my study permit was expiring in july. So I applied my study permit on part time basis. Got approved. I thought about doing my courses online but I talked to my school and they suggested not to. So i quit my job and did my courses in class. Best decision ever. I wasn't able to work so I didn't cause part time students can't work. . In December I completed my program applied for my work permit within 90 days and got approval.
I would strongly suggest to do your taxes every year so the government can be aware of your work , not to study online it can really hinder your chances for work permit and I wouldn't suggest being a part time student during your studies unless it's the final semester, being a part time student in the middle of your studies won't go in your favor.
