Hi

I recieved my passport back from Sydney today with my visa in it. I really want to thank all those that helped me with my questions along the way. Particularly Leon, PMM, canadianwoman, rjessome, Baloo, Scylla, doctorkb and Love_Young. I think it's wonderful that you all devote a lot of time to helping others through the process.

Congrats.. not quite four months from start to finish... very impressive indeed.

Thanks Kedeisha and Bangkokcanuck! Yes, I was really surprised at the speed of the application process. I fully expected to have it happen by October if all went well. There were a few hiccups along the way (some things I had forgotten) but Sydney are doing an amazing fast job on processing applications and I have to say, they are very helpful with enquiries too. I hope you both have some good news soon as well :)

I am dealing with SG so if lucky I might hear something by this time next year haha.. glad to hear Sydney is on the ball.

hey TracyS! congratulations! so happy for you girl! ;D ;D ;D

Thanks dorisiana! We're feeling pretty happy about it too :D Hope you get some good news too.

I've been following your threads a bit too, Bangkokcanuck. Seems like your visa office Singapore is a long process and tough to deal with? Very stressful for people going through it I imagine. I guess your family keep you sane and strong throughout it all :)

Yeah they seem to operate under their own set of rules, it's annoying to a degree sure. I know I am one of the very lucky ones as I have my family with me and other than reading this forum and responding here and there we don't really give the process much thought in our day to day.. my heart goes out to those that have to wait this out alone away from their family I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like, my day starts exactly the same pretty much every day, Sesame Street (Elmo's World) and a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios with the little guy so whether SG takes another 2 months or 2 years not much I can do about it... as long as we are together it will all work out in the end..

Very cute...I had to laugh. Our day starts out the same way, only it's Dora the Explorer for our two year old son. And yes, we are also blessed to be together while this process is happening. I read some of the posts from people who are separated and don't know when they'll be back together again and it is just heart breaking. Particularly those that have a genuine marriage and it's not believed. Very distressing.

You're welcome. And congratulations! It is always great to see somebody get the PR visa quickly - it gives the rest of us hope.

Thanks canadianwoman. When I read about people getting their visas quickly, I would think wow, that's great...I hope it happens to me. It did. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this has a ripple effect throughout the consulates and suddenly people are getting them issued. Now that's a nice thought :)
