Got my student visa for Winter 2026 and had a quick question about travel dates.
I’m planning to fly on 5 December 2025 and reach Canada on 6 December. My classes start on January 5, 2026. Is arriving on December 6 (about 1 month early) okay, or is that considered too early? Is there any chance the border officer might question or send me back for arriving that early? If anyone has experience entering Canada 4–6 weeks before the program start date, please share!

No issue arriving within a month. If asked about funds, show that you can support yourself until studies start.

What? Just asked if can enter a month before school starts. OP will probably not get PR or stay but is coming to study and go home.

If anything you need to to try to secure housing since very little happens in the week around Christmas and New Year’s.

I am asking if i can enter canada one month before my semester start date.
ّI think you can ,of course, if you can justify to the officer and show funds, again remember you come ,study and go home after you finish your studying as Naturgl mentioned above
