Hello,

I have received my AOR in July as you can see from my timeline. I didn't send my Security Clearance or Police Certificate because I am expecting to receive a request from CIC for a particular clearance from a particular country (if any).

Should I do something in the meantime? I guess that step is supposed to be before MR, right?

Please advise.

Thanks,
iKhalid

You start gathering your Police clearance(s) certificates.

Once you have received the PCC, you can attach a letter with your AOR+name+DOB and send the PCCs to CIC.

They will definitely ask for your PCC at a later date. So this way you don't have to wait for them to ask you.

You can gather PCC from your home country + any other country where you have stayed more than 6 months in the last 10 years (i think its the last 10 years).

Remember PCC(s) are valid for only 3 months after they have been issued.

By the time CIC sends you letter for PCC > then you start the process > then you get PCC > then you send it back to CIC.
OR
You can start gathering it now, and send it to CIC with your AOR number.

agree with iamroth!

PCCs can often take a while to obtain, and it is thus recommended to start the process sooner rather than later. And CIC would request them surely, especially for your home country and wherever you have resided for 6 months or longer. The only one not required, until actually requested, is the RCMP check.

i.e. FBI clearance took me 3 months to obtain

Once you have gathered these documents, you will want to send them to CPP-O in original, hard copy format. You cannot email them!

Just my suggestion. :)

PCC are required for ALL countries, except Canada, where you have lived for more than 6 months since the age of 18.

Unfortunately, it's not just the previous 10 years... For older people with lots of travel, this can be a real nightmare.

Exactly!

Hi iKhalid,
your case is interesting. What documents did they request before issuing AOR?

So, is it standard to get your AOR before you send your police certificate?

There's no standard, you can send it with your application or submit it later. :)
As per document checklist it's not required to be sent with the application package.

ikhalid.as you maintain in your timeline Doc's request on 06-05-2013 what document is that? And you got AOR ON 03-07 2013?!?

Thanks everyone for your help. I'm really sorry for the confusion that my profile has caused; it was a mistake that I made and there was no documents requested before the AOR. I fixed the timeline.
