Dear Friends,

I got my file number for CEC PR on July 7th,2012 now already 120 days passed and yet no information on the status of application. My friend got his medicals,he got his File number on July 15th,2012.Any idea why my application is getting delayed. How long does it take for the medical request to come. What are the conditions it is getting delayed and after getting file number how long the complete process takes. Please reply with your valuable comments.

thanks
Dinesh

u can't predict how they process applications because every case/VO varies. what u will do is to be patient because there are several other july applicants that haven't got their medical request.. all the best

If the instructions said to contact them after 120 days, then do so and inquire about the status of your application. Make sure you word your inquiry in a polite manner. ;)

Each case is different. it really depends on:
- where you apply (inland v.s. outland , what visa office is processing your application)
- what month you sent your applications (some applicants received their AORs faster than the others even though they applied months later)
- what VO is processing your application

Don't worry! We are all waiting as well ;)

When did you mailed your application and when was your application received?

I sent my application on 26th April and got AOR on july7th..the letter which i recevied with the file mentioned that the file has been transferred to Ottawa office.i applied from Toronto.is there any difference in skill A or B.Do Skill A category people medical request early?

From what i've read on here:

Most April applicants received their AORs 2-3 months after their applications were received
Almost all May applicants received their AORs 3-4 months after their applications were received
Majority of June Applicants still have NOT received their AOR
Majority of July, August, and September applicants received their AORs 1.5 month after their applications were received

So far, I haven't heard of people having their files processed faster than the others due to their Skill level

Do they prefer people with better ielts score.I have an average of 6.5 which good for 2283 code.

I don't think so. I got all 9s on my IELTS and my Skill Level is 0 and I'm still waiting like everyone that has applied in the same month I did.

I don't think so. Based only on my GCMS notes, it appears the files go through so many hands(visa officers). So my opinion is that it depends more on the workload of the visa officers. It also seemed to me that visa officers are assigned specific tasks during the process. e.g. I know that when an application is sent for final review only a Program Manager can make the final decision to approve or reject based on the visa officer's recommendation. With budget cuts, etc I don't imagine there are many of them to do this so your file gets there and has to wait in line until your turn. Again, this is just my personal opinion.

Iam just worried if my application gone through or not..are there any cases of rejection after an AOR file is received. My work permit is expiring in Jan 2013 just 45 days left..just wishing if the medical happens before that..

You never know, but I doubt that will be the case before Jan 2013. For one, Monday is a holiday and more holidays to come in December. Perhaps you could consider asking your employer to apply for a LMO for you?

Friends,
Also I have not submitted attested copies of my certificates.Does it make a difference. My friend did that and he got his medicals. In CIC website they have not mentioned anywhere to attest the documents.

If the certificates are in English or French, you do not need attested copies. If they are in another language, you need to have them translated, attested, etc - check the CEC guide for more instructions.
