Got approved as a sponsor though I never completed financial assessment

I’m so confused by ircc. Earlier this afternoon I got a letter confirming that I am eligible to sponsor but:

Me and my fiancé submitted the spousal sponsorship in April of this year in Quebec.

We moved from Quebec to Ontario in May of this year and updated our address with ircc via the change my address form on ircc website.

In June of this year, I received a request from ircc for me to fill out and submit the Quebec undertaking despite our address change. I never submitted this because we obviously moved in Ontario,

I called ircc and the agent said the address was updated and to wait for the request for more information from ircc .

Since June, there was no communication from ircc today until today where I was told I was approved as a sponsor and I’m like what the heck is going on?

Please note that there was no financial assessment completed at all. I’m confused on where to go from here. The call Center agents are completely useless, sorry.

Indeed, you are confused. There is no financial assessment required for almost all applicants for spousal sponsorship (outside of Quebec).

The exceptions are not very clearly written but are extremely narrow - if you have no children that do not have children themselves, no financial assessment required.

Since you don't mention children (let alone children that themselves have children), it's to be expected that you would not complete financial assessment - again, assuming they have now classified you as non-Quebec applicants.

There is no financial assessment for spousal sponsorship. This is why the call center would have been confused by your question.

Although no financial assessment assume you did include proof of savings and employment because you do have to show you can support your family financially.
