I warn the caveats in the thread above, and it still may be worth consulting a lawyer, or waiting until you have good docs of being in Canada, etc.

Because as has been pointed out - logically - what is written in the books and procedures is a decent starting point, but practice unfortunately unclear. I wish we had more reports of what is actually being done in practice once someone returns to Canada with an R-1 PRTD.

And the consequences are potentially severe if this read of things (above) is incorrect.

Yes, I am trying to find someone who was issued a PRTD R-1, not meeting the RO, denied entry at POE, or had their status revoked when they applied for a PR card upon arrival.
