I'm planning to come to canada as a skilled worker.Do I need to have the IELTS certificate, or I can apply and at a later phaze(stage) they interview me and it's the same as the certificate???

My best wishes from Abania

Atrid.

If you are applying for permanent residendy as a federal skilled worker, unless you are applying from inside Canada or from the US, you will do the simplified application where you will send all documents later. You will have to do the IELTS but you don't have to do it until they ask for it.

So I have to wait until they call me to do the test???And another thing that i forgot i'm applying outside of Canada, at canadian embassy in Rome(Italy).

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, wait until they contact you and ask for your documents.

I have for you Leon one more question, "at the first application form I have to declare about my level in english" where I have to make the tick there, or what I have to declare at this stage, when I haven't done the interview yet???

I would be very pleased if you can give me the answer for this.

Best regards from Atrid.

Unless you have taken the IELTS before, you would have to guess your level. When you take the IELTS, you could get better or worse than what you guessed so if you have just enough points and your estimated English points are a big part of them, you better make sure you are not overestimating. If you are worried about it, you can take the IELTS now to give yourself proper points but if you are doing simplified application, do not send them the results until they ask.

You can see the guidelines for estimating your english on page 8 at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf

Me again! I have another question. My spouse has finished the second year of university with 14 years of full time study but she has still two years to do. How many point do i get from her???

Dear all

I applied for FSW-Simplified with AOR dated 6th May 2008. As with simplified you said that the documents need to be given as rquired by CIC. So that must be same with IELTS results.

The question is that " do I need to retakt the IELTS after I have passed it with required results within 1 year of FSW application and results are not submitted/required ? "

Hopeful Canadian

I did not take the IELTS yet. But I am planning to do on the 21st Feb 2009.

My questions:

On Schedule 3 there are questions 5 and 6.

1. If I write yes in all boxes but can not prove the IELTS score yet I will be questioned. If I say no, my application might be rejected or not?

2. If I say no to question 6 do I have still 4 months to get the IELTS or not?

My job is in the 38 occupations and I do not want to miss the opportunity. So I have to be quick but smart as well.

I will have the test on the 21st and even I fail I can take it as many as times as I wish.

What do you suggest me to do?

Thanks,

Kagan
