Hi there, I am planning to visit Nepal with my Canadian RTD and I found a very good deal on airline ticket so I am thinking about taking flight from Nepal to Rome, I will be Transiting through Qatar(as I can transit through Qatar with no visa for up to 24 hours). Can I do it? Can I visit Italy by not going directly from Canada? In other words can I visit Rome with my Canadian RTD from a third country? If anyone has any knowledge about this or have done it before please let me know, thanks.

There should be no issue as long as none of these countries are your home county and as long as you obtain all of the visas you need.

yeah I need visa only for Nepal, I don’t need visa for Italy but I am worried that will they let me enter from a third country, I am not taking direct flight from Canada, I even emailed the embassy but they didn’t respond yet

It really comes down to the airline. The embassy can never guarantee what will happen with the airline or border security. Have strong proof of your ties to Canada, return tickets, lots of funds, good reason for travel and confirmed bookings, etc.

Hi Taniya20045, I’m in the same situation as you, planning to travel to Italy from a third country with my Canadian RTD. I’ve been looking at different options for my trip and am planning to explore Italy through https://gowithguide.com/Italy. From what I’ve read, having a Canadian RTD should let you enter Italy as long as you meet the usual entry requirements. Definitely make sure you have all your travel documents, proof of return to Canada, and anything showing your ties here. Airlines can sometimes be stricter than border control, so it helps to have everything well documented. Hopefully the embassy responds soon too!
