Hi Guys,

Yesterday went for the medicals, and in my wife's x-ray gotta surprise of my life. The story goes like way back in 1990s when while playing with her cousins she was mistakenly hit by an air gun shot and that time doctors said the bullet did not go inside and she was fine. But to my horror in yestrdays x-ray (after abt 18years) it showed that it's still inside the left part of her chest, i have asked my DMP to not to fwd the report to CHC, but wanna know should we go fr the removal before sending the reports or what. No idea what to do as of now?
I'm confused mentally, can't think in a right way.
Guys need your advice on it.

P.S: have time till 10th aug to send the medicals.

Thx

I am not an expert on this but the medical result that can affect our application is grave diseases like cancer of the breast. This is just a small foreign body. Consult a surgeon what type of surgery they will do and have it removed. Healing time for simple breast surgery (ex/like cyst removal) is 7 to 14 days, by that time your wife's medical can be ammended or addendum can be added by your DMP.

Go consult there surgeon. Don't worry all will be well.

God bless. :)

Another option would be to get the doctor to write a report on the BB that has been lodged in her chest for the last 18 years without causing a problem. It is hardly considered excessive demand on Canada health care if it hasn't cause any problems for such a long time.

Hey guys,
Well had a discussion with my DMP and he said that all the other results are positive and regarding my wife's xray as Leon said that ask him to write a report starting that the bullet had been there since past 18 years and alls fine, so he'll be doing that and forward it to the CHC, after which he said probably CHC can ask for more insight into this so be ready for it.
So i'm keeping my fingers crossed and monday wil be sending my ppts &rprf and will hope for the best.
Once again thanks for the support.

Hey Guys,

Just an update: Yesterday got a courier from CHC ND and it was the receipt of the rprf and today when i checked my ecas it says decision made. I am worried as what does this means.
Dunno whether the x-ray reports were done away with or not? Though in the ecas it is mentioned "Medical Results received".

My consultant says it cud mean anything. Really tensed as what's in store ahead..
Any insight on this???

Hey Thx a lot guys fr the wishes & concern.
@MC - yepp sending the receipt makes sense but my consultant was saying that they hv never rcvd any rprf receipt and may be they'll ask fr 1 more medical test as the x-ray reports suggested as stated above. So its still not conclusive.

@namasteindia - we'll b consulting a chest specialist in this regard and see what he suggests.

As of now, Um' keeping my fingers crossed and praying and hoping fr the best.

and ofcourse will always play safe, No air guns....

So is surgury. There's plenty of people walking around with debris inside them. I had a teacher with 32 shards of metal in his leg from a booby trap in Vietnam. If it's not caused any issues for 18 years, why would you risk a surgical procedure to remove it?
