Hi, I am on LMIA and by the time I landed in Canada I am 12 weeks pregnant. I am the primary applicant. Could anyone please let me know if I am covered under medical insurance for delivering a baby in Canada . It would also be of a great help if I can get the details of the conditions to be covered under insurance along with pros and cons of delivering a baby in Canada... please suggest

First which province are you in and how long have you been in Canada so far ? Obviously a pro of having a baby in Canada would be that the baby would have citizenship although would be of no benefit to you, the con might be the cost of delivering if not covered which could hit 10k or more if complications. Have you informed your employer given that could affect the status of your LMIA and permit ?

A lot depends on the province. Am guessing your employer has no idea you are pregnant. Have you been asked to do a medical?
