Ghost Status Update

Hello guys,

I got a ghost update on my account today. I logged in and saw that my medical result is currently being reviewed. The odd thing is that I am yet to do medicals. I haven't even done biometrics due to the closure of VAC. Has anyone experienced this? What does it mean?

N.b. I'm a Nigerian online non-sds applicant. Level of study: PhD. Eligibility review and background check have been on for some time too.
 
This happened to me last week, two days later l received the medical request. Since then I’ve done the medical exam, but now I’m unsure if I’ll still receive the AIP on time.

I’m also non SDS, with no biometrics because VFS is still closed, and my eligibility review and background check have also started.

This is good to know. At least, I now have an idea of what to expect. Usually, a medical request means that your application is near approval. I just hope that logic still applies in this new normal.

It does? I thought the medical exam evaluation took like a month and have been freaking out since then. Hopefully you’re right! Have about three weeks until I’ll have to defer a year. Good luck!

It doesn't usually take more than a week or two. Once everything is right with your health status, your status will change. IRCC won't send a medical request if they think you're ineligible for a study permit.
 
The same happened with me, and I just received the request form the medical exam now! I don't have biometrics yet.

I applied on the 16th of May. Nothing has happened since then apart from the medical request I received. I haven't done biometrics. However my eligibility review and background check have been on for a quite a while.
