Getting Tourist Visa when source of refugees country is Yemen

I was just wondering if my spouse (Indian Citizen) applies for the tourist/temporary resident visa and I go along as a dependent, will he also be affected the chance of obtaining a visa (study/temp resident) for having associated with me?

And if he is granted a visa and we arrive in Canada, will I be able to claim the refugee status being a Yemeni citizen, although, I go along as a dependent?

I would start by trying to get a TRV. As a Yemeni citizen I think you will find it will be very difficult. There is no dependent visas. You would both need to apply for TRVs.
