I landed in Toronto in February 2020 and am a PR holder. I am returning end of October and am expecting a baby early February. I wanted to ask if there are any restrictions on getting the OHIP immediately for pregnant, returning PR holders? Is there anything I should keep in mind.

Under normal rules, you must wait for three months after you return to Canada before you have OHIP coverage. Currently the three month waiting period is being waived due to COVID-19. However we don't know how long this will last. If you are returning in October and your baby is due Feb, then you should have OHIP coverage by the time your baby arrives (unless it's very early) even if the three month waiting period is back in place. If the three month waiting period is back in place, you'll need to pay for test, doctor visits, etc. during the three month waiting period yourself.

Assume you are moving to a Ontario permanently. That is another factor on whether you are entitled to have coverage.
