Hello,
Sorry if this is a dumb query, but I have looked around online and cannot seem to find a definitive answer on the CIC website.
My mother is Canadian with a green card to work in the USA. I am her daughter, born in the USA, seeking to eventually get dual-citizenship.
I understand that I first must get a Proof Of Citizenship certificate. I will be sending notarized copies of both my and my mother's birth certificates.
I also need to send 2 forms of identification which can be a passport, driver's license or insurance card. My question is: Do I just send copies of my Identification as well? I obviously don't want to be sending my original current documents in the mail. The website also does not state if the copies and or original documents are returned to you.
Any idea of the exact procedure? Thank you!
