Hello guys!
Thank you for all your help!
Please advise on how many days in advance you should get married (before your permit/legal status expires) in order to maintain your legal status in Canada?
And will this new status be applied when you get married or before/after (with submission of some forms)?
Thank you for all you replies!
Appreciate it very much!

Getting married does not give you status in Canada.

Does this mean that person will be present not legally in Canada if his/her status expires before she/he is getting another status from the government after getting married (of course if the submission is successful), or this period will be considered as a waiting period and if yes, when does it start?
Thank you!

Just getting married doesn't grant any kind of status or grace period.

If you apply inland for permanent residence and an open work permit before your status expires, the work permit application (not the PR one) would give you implied status. You can also apply for an extension of your visitor status. Otherwise, your status will just run out and getting married alone will not affect that in any way.

The person would get "implied status" if the person has submitted an OWP with the inland PR sponsorship before the person's status expires. As long as IRCC gets the application before the status expires, the person is fine. The "implied status" would start the day after the current status expires until IRCC sends a response, in the form of an approved OWP or a rejection letter.
