Hello! I'm an Spanish citizen apliying for Permanent Residency from Canada. I just got the passport request but I have a trip home organized. I was wondering how the process of getting back to Canada works, I have a valid open work permit, can I come back with that work permit or would I need to aply for a temporary permanent resident document as I wouldn't have the PR card yet? Thanks.

Hi

As a PR, you would need a PRTD to fly to Canada or you could fly to the US and cross into Canada by land.

It may just be easier to delay your PR landing until your return from your trip.
