Good day,

I am messaging regarding an issue with our getting our documents assessed.

As following the necassary steps of envelopes to be sealed and stamped on the flap, upon receiving our documents, the envelope was opened by the immigration security on the Syrian Border.

My husband is a Syrian passport holder where he had completed his studies. He is currently working in Oman and we are both sending our academic tertiary transcripts to be assessed for immigration purposes.

We had followed the necassary steps, before the documents were dropped off by the courier service to be mailed to us, to mail to WES, it was sealed and stamped by all the necassary officials. The flap on the back of the envelope was sealed to an extent of scotch tape as well.

However, when it reached to my husband in Oman, from Syria, the envelope was opened with a letter opener on the edge top (tip) of the envelope. Very neatly and gentle. Upon further investigation, it was told to him that it was opened by the immigration security in Syria to check for any discrepancies. DHL mentioned, under strict restrictions they cannot open it, they had declared that they would then cancel and destroy the document.

What is the process we can go from here to ensure the transcripts can still be assessed? Regardless of this is done by mail to get to my husband or if he crosses the border himself with the documents, this is the current process and situation in Syria that will occur again. Cutting open of any formal documents.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
