Hi guys

First I will explain the situation...

After a nerve racking and frustrating wait of 11 weeks, my husbands finally gets his LMO. Well hopefully. His employer wrote an email that he has to call tomorrow since he got some good news about the LMO. So I assume it's gonna be positive.

While waiting he had to go back to Switzerland since the Army obligated him to serve a couple weeks.
In case he will get the LMO tomorrow, can he take a flight back this weekend and get his work permit at the border? He likely will fly to Toronto and from there to Edmonton.
What does he need to bring?
- passport
- LMO
-contract
- police clearance
- 150$
....
Can you guys help me?
We somehow always figured that this will be possible and now I get kinda anxious!!

Thank you!

(I will write tomorrow if the LMO is positive, please please pleeeaseee it would be so great!)

What he has is fine. He should get his TWP on entry as long as the job doesn't require a medical.

PMM, thank you! He does not need a medical.
Which work permit application should he use? From inside Canada or outside? Can he prepare this or will they give him all the papers to fill out at the counter?
Thx!

He doesn't fill out anything. It will be done by the IO on arrival at the airport.

Hi Carol M,

In addition, inform also the employer of your husband's date/time of arrival as the Immigration Officer will call him/her for verification. :)

Hi you guys

I just will write an update...
After receiving his LMO(11 weeks of wait) he came back to Canada and got his Work Permit at the Border. He went to the immigration at the airport Toronto and showed his LMO, Passport, Contract, payed the 150$ fees and that was it. The immigration officer did not ask anything important and it all took about 20minutes.
It is valid for one year.
Thank you for all your support and time to answer my questions!!
