Getting a Business Number/QST as self-employed?

So, my situation seem to be pretty odd, but i'll summarize;

I'm a citizen, self employed. My Girlfriend is trying to immigrate and to sponsor her i need to bring in more money than the 30 000$ limit i am under without registering. I need a Number for several other reasons, such as i move currencies/trade and generate money in the process and i need access to banking services that require a BIN/BN. I am also wondering if i could employ her down the road, under my sole proprietorship.

However, when i try to register, the website tell me my activities aren't covered by the tax law or whatever, it doesn't specify, it just give a list of possible reason.

Is there a simpler way to apply myself? I'm trying to avoid having to go consult a Notary... I'm just trying to gather information to succeed in Québec.

FYI - there are no minimum income requirements to sponsor a spouse / common law partner.

Could you tell me more on that? I don't have the link with me atm, but the site has a table that show how much you should make to support yourself + XYZ and it came down to 3600~ CDN per month.
