Get a tenancy prior to landing to Vancouver?

Hey, is it possible to sign a tenancy agreement prior to landing in Vancouver or do we need to be present there?

It's possible if the landlord is willing. However, do so at your own risk, especially if you are not familiar with Vancouver or have not seen the property.

I guess question might be would you sign a tenancy agreement in your home country if you were emigrating there from outside without seeing the property or the area other than photos which may or may not be real ? As per previous post do so at your own risk, if you happy to do so and find a landlord then good luck but maybe start with a short a commitment as you can get just in case.

I personally had such experience of renting an apartment (in Burnaby - the city borders with Vancouver) unseen while I was outside Canada.
