Hi there,

First, thank you all for your information on this forum. It's been really helpful to my wife and I as we navigate the permanent residency process.

My (US citizen) wife is doing her outland application for PR right now. She has two previous marriages, and there's only room for one on the Generic Application Form for Canada. How should we include the information about the second one? Would it be better to print a second copy of the form and only fill in the information for that marriage, or to attach a sheet of paper saying "I was also previously married on...(give details)"? Let me know which one would be preferred by CIC. Thank you very much!

Good question! I'm surprised to see nothing on the form or guide about more than one ex. Maybe they figure if you got married a second time, then the first marriage had to have ended legally. Having said that, I would definitely mention it. I'm from the "more information is better" school. I'd include it in a separate sheet, not another page of the form.

Thanks! How should we format this? Is it OK to literally just create a Word document that lists the relationship details, then print it off and include it with the Generic Application Form? Or is there some kind of format we should follow?

Yeah, that's how I'd do it. Answer the same questions that are on the form, and include evidence the marriage ended.
