Good morning: All
I'm General Motors retiree and I would like to retired in Canada what do I need to do to make things right according to immigration. What do i need to start?.
My wife is a register nurse and she might want to work part time here and there, what would she need?. Thanks for your reply.

To remain in Canada permanently, you would need to immigrate. Here is a link describing the different categories for immigration:

Hi Gordy. In case you are not yet familiar with the Canadian Immigration Website...here it is http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

I appreciate your comment on my posting. Thanks! I live in Olympia, Washington and just recently applied to immigrate to Canada under the Family Class. (My wife is Canadian) I don't know which plan would be best for you and your wife. I do know that I will be coming back into the states 'occasionally' for work. I'm a painting contractor and have a good client in Idaho. I can't imagine why there would be any restrictions on me as I will retain my 'treasured' U.S. citizenship. I think that a good start might be to look into the "Skilled Worker" program. Everyone is anxious to hire a good nurse. That might be the key you need .

Let me know what you decide to do, Gordy.

Best wishes,
Rick
