Hi all, I have another issue regarding the GCSM notes. I have ordered the notes March 3, and according to the email they sent me, it takes them 30 calendar days to deliver them.

Yesterday was the 30th day, and so far I haven't received anything. I also have a "temporary tracking number" for my request, is there anything I can do with this number to find out what happened to my notes?

If you have experience with delayed GCSM notes, please let me know.

I have heard that if you email them and list the temp tracking number, they'll either contact you telling you when you should expect to receive them, or they'll send them to you next day.
I think I read on here somewhere that someone emailed saying they didn't get their notes, and they got them sent in the reply from CIC.

You can email them here. atip-aiprp@cic.gc.ca

(Remove the spaces)

Tell them you haven't had a response and quote the tracking number.

I suspect you will get them tomorrow

I have ordered them 3 times. They say 30 business days but when I ordered Dec 16 I got them Jan 17, ordered Jan 17 again and got them Feb 18, ordered Feb 19 again and got them March 20.

They don't begin processing until the day after you order. Or on the monday if it is a weekend.

Then they seem to come that same date on the next month.

The first time was more than 30 days so I did email the address that has been provided. It took them 3 weeks to reply and by then I obviously already had them

This is pretty much exactly the experience I had too.

You guys were right, the notes just arrived 30 mins ago. Funny how they wait till the last day to send them to you, since it shows them being created on March 17.

Hi Avadava!

So, can you tell us some of the things you saw on your notes? If you dont mind. I/we are also looking into getting notes but I think its too early at this point.

Sure, no problem. There isn't much on the notes, but I got some useful info out of them. This is of course based on my case and the possible issues I thought my application would have.

1. I found out the date my file was received by the VO and the location of the file (says Vienna Registry), that means it's probably sitting in some dark room there. Vienna doesn't send AoRs, so the notes was the only way to make sure they got my file.
2. I found out they have our correct contact info (email address, home address, telephone no, etc.)
3. I found out I passed my medical exam - which was a bit worrying for me - they had requested additional medical tests, more precisely: a second X-ray 10 days after I had done my medical.
4. I found out the validity of my medical is till January 25, 2015 ( I did my medical in Oct 2013, so they must have extended it for some reason)
5. My security and background checks are not yet started, but I found out I passed the eligibility for Family Class.
6. I also found out an important aspect, which is a note Mississauga put in: "the sponsor is a Canadian citizen residing abroad. The visa office should look into his intentions of resuming residency in Canada." At least now we will expect the VO to ask for proof of my husband's intent of moving back to Canada. I'm already working on putting some papers together.
7. I also found out the European Police certificate that I sent them was accepted. You see, I need a police certificate from 2 different European countries, so instead of getting them separately, I ordered a European PCC. I thought this might be a problem, but it wasn't, as the notes lists 2 different PCCs (the European PCC includes data from both of those countries)

There is lots of useful info on there, the file is 29 pages long, contains a lot of info on dates, even names of people that have opened your file or have change things in your file. I don't see any harm in ordering the notes, some people order a new set as soon as they get the last ones. It changed a lot for me, as it put my mind at ease in some of the aspects that were worrying me.

Wow! That's quite a handful considering that the security and background checks hasn't even started yet. Imagine ordering the notes when you get to the PPR stage. Thanks for sharing. We are now on our 4th month waiting, maybe I'll wait out a month more before I (or should I say persuade my husband) order the notes. Well, my husband's the sponsor but he always leaves all the work to me. :)

You applied in December 2013 and already passed eligibility?
I applied in April 2013 and my notes in January showed: eligibility not started :-(

Actually, I have to correct that info in there, my eligibility is not started yet. Last night I looked at the notes in a hurry, so today, looking over them again I realized the "Passed" eligibility is under the sponsor. It says:

"SPONSORSHIP - FAMILY CLASS AND REFUGEE
SPR Correspond language - English
SPR Eligibility - Passed"

So SPR actually refers to the sponsor, I thought the eligibility was for the family class. Further down on the notes, right before criminality and security, there is a sections for eligibility for the applicant, which for me it says "Not Started"

So don't feel bad, it was my mistake :)

Oh, I forgot to mention this, but I also found out my UCI number from the GCSM notes. Before I knew only the sponsor's UCI and for myself, I had the file number that starts with F000. Now, I can use my own UCI to log in into ECAS.
