Hi guys, I'm just wondering what's GCMS for and how it can help me with my permanent residence application? FYI, if it helps, I got my AOR on June 24

GCMS stands for "Global Case Management System" - CIC's (still relatively) new integrated computerized system to keep track of applicants globally. It rolled out a couple of years ago.

How can it help you? If you want to see a more detailed status update, you can request the electronic GCMS notes and see what comments VOs have made on your application. Sometimes, if you find out there is a problem soon enough, you can correct it before it turns into a real problem (like a refusal). Usually there's not much to learn until your application has been in process for at least 3 months. It takes about 1 month to process the application for GCMS notes.
