Finally! Ready for Visa (RFV) after a looooooooooooong security check
I finally received the Ready for Visa email yesterday after a very long wait and a comprehensive security check. For those still waiting, here is my timeline to give you some hope:
* Applicant Type: Outland
* ITA: February 29, 2024
* AOR: April 27, 2024
* Biometrics & Medical: June 2024
* ADR 1 (July 2024): New passport (old one expired), Government Service History (as a government employee), and Military Service History (exempted).
* ADR 2 (October 2024): IMM 5669 Annex A.
* Background Check (BGC): Updated to "In Progress" late October 2024.
* The Wait: 13 months of total silence.
* (Nov 27, 2025): BGC updated to "Completed." Requested updated Medicals, PCC, updated annex A and Proof of Funds.
* Final Decision: February 2026 – RFV email received!
So for everyone stuck in security screening: hang in there. Even though delays are frustrating, if your documents are solid and clear, your approval will eventually come.

No update. Approached MP multiple times, called IRCC, raised webforms. Nothing worked.

May I ask what the template for demand letter you used? If it is okay with you, would you mind sharing it? I am in the same boat, and I am seriously considering filing Mandamus.

Please keep us updated if you hear back in 2 months! I am in the same boat but my BGC was updated to "In Progress" in Dec 1, 2025. So, I guess I still have a year or something

My dear Iranian brother, I hope you get your results soon. But I am currently in my 16th month of the comprehensive security check (I applied on 27 Feb, 2024, security check started on 24 Oct, 2024), so I guess the timeline is a little bit different for us Iranian people

We submitted our application in April 2023, eligiblity was passed in 2023, however, file was sent to comprehensive security in 2023.
We had a new baby born last year and we submitted baby documents to IRCC. Security cleared now and we again received POF request and asked to provide last 6 months statements.
My question is whether our application will be assesed for POF as per April 2023 or when the baby was born or based on the current POF requirements. Want to know if others who were stuck in SS received updated POF request and how did they handle it and what was accepted by IRCC?
