Hi everyone,

I am wondering how the comprehensive security check gets triggered in the PR process. Does anyone know if it only happens when someone has a military or government background, or can it be triggered for other reasons as well?

I don’t have any military background, so I’m trying to understand what might cause a comprehensive security check to start.

Can be for other reasons.
Nationality / education / work history / etc.
No one knows the exact formula but it doesn't have to be exclusively military or government background.

Today, my PR tracker shows " We received the information you sent us. We’ll review it and let you know if we need any other information from you." But I haven't sent any webforms, nor called IRCC, nor sent any requested docs. And mostly when we are raising webforms or calling them, the message shows " We received your inquiry." Does anyone know about this update?

Thank you

Ignore it. Doesn't mean anything. If you are calling or raising webforms, the text can say anything. Ignore them as they are not even materially related to your application as you've not submitted anything via a webform or updated things like family composition via email or something else.

Yes, you are right. If they gave the real update in this stage it should be final decision directly.

Hey guys will work experience be checked under comprehensive security screening even if the eligibility is complete in tracker?

I got my latest gcms today, it says:

Security

Sub activities 1:

Type: CIT CSIS screening
Status: received
Status updated date: 2025/06/10

My security still shows in process. But looks like ircc has received the results from CSIS. Am I right? I'm assuming my security clearance is done by CSIS already but just waiting for ircc to review.

Any insights?
