For those who had ordered GCMS and have gotten their PR, did it help you predict the BF Date. I have heard people being not clear with the GCMS Notes, and there is no mention of the BF Date! So, if anyone can shed light on this, I would really appreciate it.

As your profile is:

App. Filed.......: 28-02-2011
Nomination.....: 09-02-2011
AOR Received.: 06-09-2011
Med's Request: 06-09-2011
Med's Done....: 13-09-2011, received @ Ottawa on Oct 3rd, Ecas Updated on 20th October, Medical Results have been received.

In such a better situation it is not worth going for GCMS.

Thanks for the reply, Wilson :) When you say better situation, you mean because my timeline is relatively quicker than you have seen? I dont expect to hear anything before jan-feb anways, but was wondering if GCMS helps in prediction the PPR Request date?

Secondly, medical results have been received, does it mean background checks are done?

Thanks

Yes Sharu. Probably there is no more BC. Usually I could take 3-4 months for next step after medical. There can be cases who got PPR before 3 months but not every one. So please relax and I hope you will hear some thing soon. In fact CAIPS or GCMS are helpful for those people whose case is very very slow and no response from visa office after repeated requests. That is why I said you are in a better situation. Good luck.

Granted I don't know a lot about how the Experience stream works and who is processing your file (I presume it's Buffalo, based on your previous posts....?), but considering that they have a lot more information than e-cas, I think there's absolutely nothing to lose by ordering GCMS notes. Some people order them several times. Just keep in mind that GCMS is for outside Canada information while FOSS is for inside Canada information.

If you apply for this "so called" GCMS notes, does it slow down the application process? Any ideas? Experience?

No, as long as you don't check off the physical file, it doesn't interrupt processing. These are essentially printscreens of the GCMS system that are printed by the ATIP division of CIC in Ottawa. This doesn't involve the IOs that are actually working on your file.

Then what's the different between CAIPS and GCMS? What content they include respectively?

CAIPS is the predecessor of GCMS, used before CIC transitioned to this system (which stands for Global Case Management System). You can read http://immipedia.ca/Ordering_FOSS_and_CAIPS_notes and the links within that page for more information.
