Thanks, but how does this any different with GCMS notes...what kind of additional information it provide related to Spouse Sponsor application status?

Will it be useful after GCMS notes which i received yesterday only? Should i go for it? My wife is Canadian PR holder

GCMSnotes.com is a business that "channels" CIC GCMS notes request for a fee. You get exactly the same thing when ordered directly from CIC via ATIP.

Basically, you paid C$40, then GCMSnotes.com turned around and paid C$5 to CIC (pocketing C$35). GCMSnotes.com gets your notes, then puts them online for you to download.

Oopsss... then I already incurred loss :(

I think i should wait for a month to order via ATIP. My GCMS notes dated to be around 30 August. I don't think they made any significant update to till date.

Thanks Omegabyte :)

It is also possible to get GCMS notes for no fee under the Privacy Act. But I believe you have to prove the PA is in Canada.

Notes can be ordered for 5 CAD only if you are a Canadian Permanent Resident or a citizen from what I know. I think the person in question paid 40 CAD to capisnotes.ca I guess. There are other services that might cost less.

From the ATIP request FAQ:

Who can make a request under the Access to Information Act?

A: Canadian citizens, permanent residents and any individual present or corporation in Canada can make a request under the Access to Information Act. Individuals who are neither of the above can ask a representative, who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, to make a request on his/her behalf, provided there is written consent.

Who can make a request under the Privacy Act?

A: Canadian citizens, permanent residents and any individual present in Canada can make a request under the Privacy Act.

Unless the PA is present in Canada with status (work, study, or visitor), the request is made by the sponsor. Requests made under the AIA are C$5, requests made under the Privacy Act are free.

Using a third party to get notes is only useful if you do not know any Canadian citizens or PRs who can request it on your behalf. This should not be the case for any spousal sponsorship cases as the sponsor must be one of those. Therefore save yourself some money and order directly from the government.

Yeah, actually I wasn't aware about that platform. Thanks for enlightening me :)

It has been 60 days since i applied for GCMs notes. after 45 days i followed up with email and got response that we are aware of delay and flag it for priority but still have not received yet.

So looks like as more and more poeple are requesting GCMS notes therefore new norm is 60+ days instead of 30 days.

Paper file :
Office : Mexico .
File # xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Location : docs requested -PR
( taken from my notes ).

does this mean PR pending receipt of the requested docs ? Or am I over thinking ?

Help Guyz!

If I have a representative (lawyer) and I want to request GSMC notes. Will the notes be emailed to my lawyers email address that is on my application?, or will it allow me to provide an email where I want to receive them. Just wondering if I can have the notes emailed to my personal email rather than my lawyer

Please let me know anyone...

You will be asked to provide an email address where the notes will be sent , ATIP doesn't have your lawyer email address and he doesn't represent you unless you give him a new consent .
