When getting gcms notes, if I request them as the sponsor but wanting the sponsored persons (applicants) information, will they send me it? OR do I need his consent? How do I go about getting information about our case where its at? What steps do I have to take? I already requested them, but what I did was put MY information and said that I wanted notes regarding the permanent visa's status (which is the sponsored persons info). Any feedback? Thanks Kindly

Instead of filling out the consent form is a letter written by the applicant dated and signed good enough? Like not actually using the form they provided just a written consent form made by the sponsored person?

you need to use the consent form provided above.

ok sure can that consent form be scanned and attached as a document to submit online OR does it have to be mailed (original documents)

He/she can scan it after signing it. what you need to do is print it out fill and sign your part as well.same thing I did.and I have already ordered and got 2 notes(2 different ocasions). when you send the request they will send you an aknoweldgment. if anything missing or if you scaned with a wrong resolution they will tell you.note that some files may be restricted to have notes, but it doesn't happen too much.

if the applicant is living in Canada with sponsor, can I order notes by myself? That means no fee and no consent to attach, is my understanding correct?
What documents should I attach?

Though you are living in Canada you can't apply by your own your spouse only has to get it done for you on your behalf

You have to fill in the consent form , sign it ,scan and send to them.

Thank you so much!!! Oops I did it wrong last week..... what else should I attach except the consent form? Do I need to scan both of our ID and any proof of our address?

I recently ordered my GCMS notes following the above instructions and a youtube video.
Just type in "how to order GCMS notes" and it has a step by step video.

Goodluck

That is incorrect. If you are living in Canada you CAN apply for GCMS for yourself or other individual under the option of "Individual or corporation present in Canada". If you are living in Canada and are a sponsored person you can apply for yourself for free under the Privacy Act on this link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp
You will have to attach a proof of your residence in Canada which can be either PR, work permit, TRV/TRP, etc.

Oh no...........I applied twice then :o But the first time I did not attach the proof of my residence so I guess it may not consider a complete order.

If they are missing some documents, like the one you mentioned, they will either process your request anyways or will contact you by email to request the missing document. So, no worries, you will have your request processed sooner or later - ATIP has a very good customer reps who are diligent in the work they do and their communication with the customers (us), that at least was my repeated experience with them in the recent couple of years.

Hai,
Relax
It's only permanent residence , citizenship, work permit or an agent can apply
Trv applicants can apply only if they have either of the documents in their name

Canadian driving licence or
Address proof

Did you get an acknowledgment and temporary tracking no e Mail from them ??

Atip sends an acknowledgment e mail when you have successfully send them the required documents
