Dear friends,

Some people believe that if you order GCMS, you can speed up processing of your application.

Please, share your real experience with GCMS and your timeline.
Let's check the plausibility of this myth ;D

The theory is plausible only if you assumed the same agents who process your applications also generate your GCMS. In reality, this assumption would make CIC work process so inefficient. My point exactly is,-- CIC would have dedicated low level staff saddled with the responsibility of generating reports to ensure their trained agents are not distracted with every single GCMS request. And I reckon that these dedicated staff who generate GCMS would not be authorized to work on applicants' file.

I believe, the said theory is just a Myth; and that GCMS only helps to monitor the progress of your application.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts

Anybody else?

I concur with ibejiopad. Notes are being generated by ATIP officers (it's cleary said in e-mail with notes attached), not CIC officers. So in theory ordering GCMS notes has no effect on your application.

Myth... However, physical note ATIP/PA requests might have the opposite effect in that the application has to be physically accessed to be scanned. This might well cause it to lose it's place in the processing queue and be put back at the bottom of the pile.

Ordering gcms notes has exactly zero impact on the processing of the application

Totally myth. when you ask for GCMS note. someone just print your information (most probably admin people from Admin Staff) then they scan and email it.
i don't think that Admin people would have anything to do with the actual Visa office or application status.

I am sorry for Hijacking your Thread; If you don't mind.

I just ordered GCMS notes; during filling the app they ask for supporting Docs (optional). I did not attach anything as it was for myself under the Privacy Act.

Did any of you attach anything (ID, Passport..etc)? For those who did not attach anything like myself, did you experience any difficulties or delays?

Thank you and Sorry again for posting non-related comment!

Myth based on my experience.

I ordered twice already. I ordered all the notes after the last update.

Nothing happened.

See my timeline below.

Thank you all for your answers!

Are there any (+)positive outcomes of ordering GCMS??? )

PS... Actually.. I think that the GCMS myth is busted ))

Yes, if you have missed a request for further information etc because of email or post being lost, your GCMS notes might be the first time that you are alerted to the situation. It may also give you extra time to prepare if there is a potential problem with the application, before being formally notified by CIC.
