Hey Guys,

If I want to request the GCMS notes while I'm residing in Canada can I do it under the privacy act or the information act?

Thanks!

If it is about yourself, you can do it under the privacy act, with no fees.

Hi guys,

If I'm applying for this myself (under the Privacy Act), do I need a consent form from my spouse, who is also on my file?

Yes, you need to include it in the first request. Not a must in any subsequent.

Thanks sashali!

Anybody who has tried ordering GCMS notes through the website ?

The website has a field that states the following.

"To be eligible to make a request, you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or an individual or corporation currently present in Canada. Please select the category that best describes you."

Should an applicant residing out of Canada select "None of the above" from the choices listed in the drop down ?

Hi guys,

So I emailed some additional documents to CPP-O a couple of weeks ago. Do you know if GCMS notes indicate whether such documents have been added to the file?

You will need to ask for physical files and not GCMS to see the scanned document submissions.

Just to clarify, the VO would not make a note in the GCMS system when attaching additional docs?

FYI..............

They still accept the email and fax request till MAY 13

As of May 13, 2013, we will no longer accept ATIP requests submitted by fax or e-mail.

You can submit your request using the ATIP Online Request tool, which is accessible via: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/ or send your request by mail.

For more information, visit the following website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/index.asp.

Not sure what do you mean by your question. GCMS - is just a status update. Physical files - all docs that have been submitted and/or received.

It's always a good practise to read first and write later (same as listen more and speak less, you know) :)

Does anyone know how to track the GCMS notes request ?

Yes. There will likely be a note - assuming its been added to your file.

They may have received it but not added it, in which case their wont be a note b
