Hi there,

I just have a question about applying both working permit and study permit and here is the case:

I am going to have a work permit supported by LMIA for one year and start working from Feb 2021 until Feb 2022.

During this period, I also want to apply for study permit at earliest intake time after my work permit is expired, let say May 2022. So as soon as my work permit expires in Feb 2022, there will be a gap between Feb 2022 and May 2022. So what type of visa can I apply for while I am waiting for my school starts in May 2022? Or what else can I do in order to stay legally in Canada during this gap period?

Just apply for your study permit in advance so that you get it before your work permit has expired, then you'll maintain legal status and won't have to leave the country.

It's not uncommon to have study permits approved several months before the start of your program (3-4 months) and be in the country several months the program begins.

Before becoming a PR I was on a PGWP and received my study permit 4 months before 4 months exactly my program started, and almost a year before my pgwp was due to expire.

You'll have no issues, just make sure to give yourself enough time to do this.

If I applied for study permit and it were approved before my work permit expired. Then the question is that would my study permit be valid from the date my school started in May 2022 or it would be valid from the date that my study permit is approved?

I thought that was pretty clear from what I said...

Permits are valid from their issuance date until their expiration date.

There is no guarantee you will get the study permit. You need to show strong ties to your home country and show that you will return home after your studies.

I have a PGWP and I want to apply for a study permit. Does the approval study permit invalidates my PGWP?

Also, I have a PNP PR application ongoing and an Express entry eligible profile.
I just wanna stay here and wait for my PR to approved.

Do you think my PR applications would make them deny my Study permit application especially the proof that you intend to leave Canada?
No, you should be fine.

You can hold a PGWP and a study permit simultaneously. I did that.

I had about 1 year left on my PGWP when I applied for my study permit, and 2 days before having my Study permit approved I submitted my PR application. Then I had my PR approved before my PGWP expired.

You can hold 2 different permits simultaneously, meaning also that you can work full time while studying.
