FURTHERANCE LETTER FOR ADDITIONAL MEDICAL TEST

Hi. We also got furtherance letter . Same situation spot on both lungs so talked to doctor and he asked us to do the sputum and x ray after 3 months. So my questions are:
Do we need to wait for a doctor to send us an email or anything written to get the sputum test done from any lab.
do we need to inform IRCC that our test result will be late as in the letter they mentioned only 60 days for the medical.
We just talked to the doc today and he was explaining on the phone so wasnt sure what should we do now?

You can only go through the additional tests with authorized immigration physician, same hospital where you had your first exam, call the physician and make an appointment for sputum collection, you may have visit hospital 3 days in a row preferably early morning with empty stomach and without brushing your teeth. The sputum test results will be available only after 6 to 8 weeks, followed by a repeat xray 3 months from the date you had first xray and a follow up consultation with the specialist referred by primary immigration.

Please note, you cannot take this test with a hospital of your choice and submit to IRCC, they will not accept it and you will waste your money. IRCC in 99% cases is aware you need additional tests to rule out TB. Just follow the advise of your primary physician you consulted the first time.

Okay. Now doctor gave us a requisition letter mentioning to get the sputum test done from any lifelab. That means i can take that doctor note and go to any lab to get it done. Yes they told us to get the x ray done after 3 months.
so if doctor says to get it done from any lab. Ircc will not have a problem right???

If the immigration physician asked you to or referred you to get it done from other lab that should be alright, I suppose they are not equipped with sputum tests or does not have capability, go for it. If you already have a furtherance letter letter from IRCC then that means they are aware that it will take time, they know the process, there are thousands of such cases, I am one example. So you dont have to send anything in writing to IRCC. Its a long wait but you will have to have patience, I had Genexpert test, AFB Smear test and culture test. Genexpert and AFB smear are quick you will have the results in 24 to 48 hour time, if they both are negative thats a good sign and you can ease your worries, however, culture report will take about 8 weeks to come in, there is nothing we could do to shorten that time, IRCC needs a culture report. Followed by a repeat xray 3 months form original data of xray, they will compare both Xray and see if there is a growth or something unusual if not you are cleared.

Not sure what country you are in? If they say lifelab, is it a company? please go to lifelab, just dont leave any room for confusion. Ask specifically which from lab you will accept the results, or get a reference and address.

Yeah they told us any life lab in ontario

Hi Komal, can you be kind enough to tell me how long you have waited to get clearance letter from the panel physician, did you get the clearance letter after you have finished your 6 months medicine? when you had your 1st Medical done? Thank you in an advance!

For me it was scheduled over 3 consecutive days, early morning and empty stomach. I am not sure about same day with a gap of an hour.

Were u successful in giving the samples. It is very hard for us to give enough of sputum.

Yes, I also have my results back after 8 weeks, its negative. They will provide a liquid to gargle so you can get the sputum out.

We tried at home Nd we couldnt give that much. They told us if sample is not enough they will tell us to give again. Do we need to go to doctor to get the liquid to gargle . ??

I would usually visit the lab in wee hours, they gave me a glass full of sour liquid, take it to nearest wash basin, gargle and cough it up, and submit then and there it self.

I received a Furtherance letter for medical exam (see below). I called the clinic where I performed my medical exam but they said they should receive the note first from CIC regarding the additional testing. So it seems that CIC already asked me to do additional medical tests but in my the clinic said they cannot find anything yet in my eMedical file
