Hi everyone,

I am gathering my documents for my study permit, I have however come across a bit of a bump.
I was planning on opening a Student Deposit account in Canada through CIBC but due to my country of citizenship (Tanzania) they have informed me it is not currently available. My second option would be to submit a bank draft, however the banks where I live (Oman) only provide bank drafts in USD, EUR and GBP.
The requirement on the website states:
  • a bank draft that can be converted to Canadian dollars
I am wondering if any of you know if this will be acceptable to a visa officer if i submit a bank draft in USD that can be deposited in a Canadian bank once I arrive?

My Aunt is helping me pay half of the amount needed for living expenses, I think just depositing the amount in my personal account might raise a red flag which is why i am opting for a bank draft in my name instead to show that the funds will be available to me on arrival.
