Hi Qorax and All Seniors,

I am curious about the proof of fund.

If someone can not afford to have enough funds to show/maintain while during his whole process ( After receiving his 1st AOR to PR) ,
But he can arrange fund just for a short duration, for the sake of issuing bank statement to submit along with his complete application.

Then how it can affect his application ?
In this case what alternate he can do ?

Can Saving Certificates & Prize Bonds can shown as proof of funds

Plz Comment.

Regards,
MEHAR

one need to show statement of funds for 6 months; if big amount of fund is transfered to your account in that period then you need to write explanation from where you get it to prove that it belongs to you & you have not borrowed it (for example, if you say that you sold your land then you may need to show your name in that transaction).

Any big transactions can lead to several more questions and show money isn't always good as they might refuse your application if you won't satisfy them about available funds. Funds should be available in your account throughout the duration of your application. I think saving certs can be shown as POF but i doubt prize bonds

Do we need to maintain that amount until immigration process has completed ?
First step - apply CIC, Canada (you do not need to send funds statement)
after approx. 2-3 months CIC will send e-mail that you have qualified & CIC will ask for documents to support things mentioned in forms;
they will give 120 days to send it; which means if you keep that fund on your name or your spouse name (if spouse is part of your application) & apply for first step; by the time you will send documents; you would have 6 months fund statement.

Second step - you will send full documents to support the info in forms to visa office in country where you are living (you need to send statement of fund).
visa office takes time as per there work load; mostly they do not ask to submit the statement again; BUT they have right to ask for any document again.

Last but not least - when everything is over & you get the PR. If you want to enter (first time) in Canada; you need to carry the required amount with you.

You are the best judge here.

Hello guys, first of all thanks for all the info!!

I took the assesment and we (my husband and I, we also have a 2yo son) have a total of 82 points, so we are eligible, now the questions are:

What's the minimun amount you need to have in the bank in order to have a decent chance of being accepted??

And what's the required amount of money u need to have when you land there??

Thanks...

You have to have at least CAD$16,967 for three people. You have to have the same amount of money when you land. Please see link.
