Fund available in Canada

Hi, I am having a question about my fund available in CAN during my stay. My parents recently sent an amount of money to uncle for my expenses and yet they do not want me to keep that large amount of money :-[ can i use my uncle's bank statement to provide my fund? Looking forward for your respond, thank you.

If you can ask your uncle for a bank document showing how much he owns and a signed declaration that he will cover for your expenses, it will be ok. (provided he has enough to show).

Well it's not something explicitly asked by immigration but I guess it can't hurt to add it to a proof of funds. Especially if it happens your uncle and yourself do not share the same name.

In it he just has to write his NAME, his ADRESS, that he will cover the living costs of YOUR NAME (including food, housing, transport, insurances etc), and your studying costs (including tuition, books and other costs). Then he signs, put a date and that's it.

Remember anyway that the proof of money is more important (I think they want you to show at least 15K or something), this is just to be sure.

For study permit extension, they need money on a account which shows your name.

so i can't use my uncle's bank account? he is my sponsor, and he did write a letter guarantee that he would be responsible for my expenses in canada. Does it still requires money under my name ?

I never heard anyone applying for study permit extension by showing other bank account.
It is just one day thing. Transfer money in your account, print statement from Bank.
And they return your money to uncle.

I have made 4 student permit using my mother account as proof for both Quebec and Federal, it's not even a canadian account, never had a problem always included a letter of declaration of support with it.

And actually I wouldnt even be able to deposit on my account for a few days, when I apply for Quebec I must show I had the money for 3 months...

The problem is my uncle using that money in account to sponsor for another member on family at the same time also, so he cant transfer his money during this time. if its as you say, it would be so easy

I just sent my docs already, if they ask me to take money under my name, guess there will be no other alternative :-[ And I appreciate your help Acken and Aman 8)

The thing is that , If they want the money under your name , Instead of mailing you, They can reject it right away.
And If you're in Implied Status , then you have to leave the country.
I'm not scaring you. Just letting you know.

Since you guys are talking about funds, could you tell me how much approximately do you have to show in your bank statement? i'll be applying for renewal of my study permit soon. So, i'd be glad if you could tell me the amount of funds required.

You can tell your uncle to write a letter and states that he is gonna pay for all your expenses and etc. This means he is your sponsor but dady.
In this case, you can show his back statement. Hope it helps.
