Full time during summer break

I am graduate student and taking this summer off. My question is that on permit tthey have written u can full time or 40 hours during break. Can I work more than 40 hours because its full time time or not.

Wat do u mean by "taking summer off". International students can not just take semesters off. They have to maintain their full time status through out their stay. Do talk to ur institution abt it first

It's summer break. You aren't required to still go to school over the break. It's a scheduled break for a reason.

I got admission in conestoga college in Post Graduate course named as Information Technology Business Analysis. It will start in sep 2016 and ends in Dec 2017. As per offer letter it states that it is 2 year Full Time Program and will be having 16 months of study. But the semesters runs consecutively without a break.

So, will you please tell me how much work permit will I get. 3 years or upto the course length (16 months)

It's summer break. You aren't required to still go to school over the break. It's a scheduled break for a reason.

Rules about "summer break" are different for international students. In no way are international students allowed to take the summer semester off IF the university runs on three semesters per year cycle. The course load necessary for summer semester can vary among different instituions but in no way can u just take a summer break if ur on study permit. U will violate the conditions of ur permit if u do. Kindly make sure tht u provide only tht information which ur sure about or else mention tht wat ur stating is an opinion. Otherwise, someone's visa conditions or future can get messed up

In canadian education system, one academic year means two semesters. A program of four semesters means its a program of two years. The program of two years for international students automatically means a consecutive study of 16 months as they are not allowed to take any semester off. So for ur program u do quakify for three years pgwp according to current cic rules

How much hours is considered full-time? Cause there is no specific definition for this

It depends what school. At Memorial University, it's 9 hours and Thad where I'm attending. May have to call your school.

No university tht runs on the trisemester cycle calls summer a "scheduled break". If u hv called and asked then good for u. Enjoy ur summer

No, I meant how much hours of work is considered full-time? The only thing we know for sure is that part-time job hours are not more than 20 hours. So what about full-time during breaks? For example, am I allowed to work 60 or 70 etc hours?

1. Anything over 30 hours a week means a full time work.
2. You can work as many hours you want during 'scheduled' break. It's a different thing if your employer will give your more hours or less.
